Well, once again, I have done something REALLY stupid! You see, we are attending our annual Super Bowl party with some friends tomorrow, and we are all supposed to bring a snack. Well, last year for my birthday my mom gave me a set of really cool cookie cutters, and I thought, this would be the perfect opportunity to make some awesome cookies. So, I searched my recipes for my special Martha Stewart sugar cookie recipe, made a list of what I needed from the store, went to the store, came home and attempted to make these wonderful cookies.
So here is the upsetting part.... I usually make the royal icing with meringue powder, but I didn't have any so I used two egg whites. AFTER I finished I thought, should I refrigerate these or not, so I "Googled" it.
Do you see where I'm going with this???
There it was, big as Dallas.... DO NOT EAT ROYAL ICING MADE WITH EGG WHITES! Apparently it is just for decoration.
Okay, so there are actually people in this world that purposely make cookies that take 3.5 hours to make, just to look at and NOT eat?
WHY????????
After much anger about this situation, I proudly showed them to my husband. For those of you that don't know him, he doesn't get excited about much (especially cookies!). Anyway, I peeled the foil off the pan and he said, "Oh, wow!" So, then I told him what I did, and we convinced ourselves that if they were eaten soon, people might not get salmonella poisoning.
I just wrapped them up for him to take to work tonight and share with all the good people at the Post Office!
Gosh, I hope we are right! :-)

Amanda, you should seriously consider doing this for a living! Those are amazing! So professional. I would totally eat them- I eat raw eggs all of the time:)
Oh my gosh! I am sooooo proud of you. They look great. Stan said to tell you that you are "anal" kind of like your mom ... things just have to be perfect! Didn't you accuse your mom of something like that. Your nanny Turner said you need to do this cookie making for $$ too. Again WOW
That is toooo funny and so Martha! The cookies look fabulous in the pictures though. I would eat those and take my chances:-)
Aah. They also say don't eat cookie dough because it has raw eggs in it....and I've probably eaten more cookie dough than I have cookies and never had a problem!!!

ummm...those are a-mazing!!! seriously...you should go into business...i'd be your #1 customer:) i bet the guys at billy's job were excited! thanks for your sweet comments about ashley and will's tubes...i so appreciate your prayers!
