I feel like the worst mother ever! All last week, Kent, has had this really bad nagging cough and I just kept dismissing it, thinking it would get better. Friday night Kent ended up sleeping with me while Billy was at work, and all night his breathing was really "weird". Every time he would breathe in and out I could hear his chest rattling. First thing Saturday morning, I called the doctor and got him an appointment. When the doctor listened to Kent's chest she asked if I had let him stay home any this week. I said, "no... why?" She said I had one very sick little boy. Turns out he has pneumonia! He is on antibiotics, an inhaler and Mucinex. We were strongly encouraged to stay home all weekend and keep him home from school on Monday. So, it's been one of those easy-going weekends, and it has been very nice.
I felt really bad that I hadn't taken him in earlier, but hey, half the time the doctor's look at me like I'm crazy and tell me it's a virus and it will be a week or two before I see improvement. Honestly, I thought that would be the case this time. I told my mother-in-law I needed to invest in a stethoscope so I could learn how to diagnose my kids myself!
Anyway, the other two little monkeys are doing well, and hopefully Kent will be all better by Thanksgiving.
I hope everyone has a great week!

Isn't being a mom hard sometimes? It feels like we are either too over-reactive or too under-reactive and somebody is always looking at us like "get it together"! Oh well...glad we're not in it alone ;o)
Hope your little one gets better soon!
Hey! I just looked outside and saw a whooly mountain man and realized it was Billy. That's funny. I think David will be jealous cause he can't grow facial hair.
me again! See you figured out the music thing!
Poor baby! I hope that he is feeling better now. Callie had a bad virus last week and I know that there is nothing worse than a sick kid. You just wish you could take all the pain away.
Get well soon, Kent!
Love,
Lexi and Kelsey
I hope he is feeling better! I don't blame you one bit, the dr.'s always say "it's just a virus, there's nothing we can do!!". That's what they told us Saturday about Emily! So, I feel your pain!
whatever, you are a wonderful mom! it's just a guessing game sometimes! glad your sweet boy is on the road to recovery!
I hate trying to decide if it's "bad" enough to go to the doctor...ugh!!
